ONBOARD: NJTFC Welcomes Match Day Operations Manager Brian Ahern
NJ Teamsters FC (NJTFC) welcomes Brian Ahern to the family as Match Day Operations Manager at Don Ahern Veterans Stadium in Bayonne, New Jersey. Brian hails from the City of Bayonne and is the son of the legendary Don Ahern, Bayonne High School's head football coach, educator and legislator.
NJ Teamsters FC president Alex Geraldino says, "We're elated to have Brian onboard. Having him as our matchday operations manager is a no brainer. He's been groomed by the best in the area. He knows how to put on a sporting event at Don Ahern Veterans Stadium and his experience working with capital projects is also impressive. Brian and the Ahern family attended each and every home match. The Ahern's are some of our biggest supporters so this is truly an authentic relationship that will remain a permanent part of our history and legacy."
At NJTFC's home matches, Mr. Ahern will plan and execute matchday productions, coordinate and work closely with NJTFC's event staff within all facets of stadium operations including at the box office, security, consessions, fulfillment and fan engagement. He'll also work with matchday vendors and sponsors, ensuring our home presentation, promotions and activations are fulfilled. Also, Brian's goal is to organize our first youth fellowship program, to train students in stadium operations and give them the opportunity to be apart of the community's soccer club.
"It is with great pride and an honor to be asked to join NJ Teamsters FC family as a match day manager!" Brian serves as a trustee of The Ahern Foundation/Don and Arlene Ahern Memorial Scholarship, a non-for-profit program that annually awards $2500 to two college or vocational school bound high school students from Bayonne. For the past 2-years, NJ Teamsters FC volunteer at the foundation's annual golf competition to raise funds for the scholarship program. We are looking forward to getting back on the home pitch with Brian Ahern!
