by Media Dept.

During Women's History Month, NJ Teamsters FC's chief executive officer, Sibrena Stowe-Geraldino was honored by Hudson County, thanks to the City of Bayonne's Mayor Jimmy Davis' nomination!

Hudson County's Annual Women's History Month celebration for the outstanding "Class of 2020" has been cancelled due to Coronavirus (Corvid-19) pandemic. A letter from Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise wrote in part, "This year's event, themed "Valiant Women of the Vote" was planned to highlight the centennial of the adoption of the 19th Amendment and proudly offer your lives and careers as examples of how that historic change has echoed through the years and our society."

Mrs. Geraldino co-founded NJ Teamsters FC with husband Alex Geraldino is instumental in our successful global marketing campaign. You can find Stowe-Geraldino walking on the pitch in high fashion in dresses and gowns, during practices. The club loves her infectious laugh and positive attitude towards the players and front office. She loves to joke with the players but, also offers tough love, and motivational speeches that will make any player want to win!

We asked Sibrena how does it feel to have been nominated for this honor and she explained, "I was totally surprised when Mayor Davis' office contacted me and asked if I would accept the nomination! I'm a proud Bayonne resident and am honored to be a receipient. As a woman in sports, I work extra hard to knock down barriers. When I deal with men in the sports business, I think they see me and expect easy going negotiations but I must say, I am a beast! I learned from my mother, she was the 1st feminist I've ever known. She burned her bra in West Philadelphia, join the Army Reserves which was unheard for a woman who had contracted polio as a child. My mom had to learn to walk again and she walked and excelled in life so I had an amazing example. Mom taught me that I can do anything!  Her spirit is with me every day and even though this medal and citation is for me, I am honored to continue her legacy and be all that I can be! I stand ready to strike at all great opportunities for myself, my family and my club."

NJ Teamsters FC would like to congratulate Sibrena Stowe-Geraldino of Bayonne, Mireya De La Cruz of Guttenberg, Christine Johnson of Hoboken, Daisy Frazier of Jersey City, Tonya Keyes of Jersey City, Undersheriff Francine Shelton, Margaret "Peggy Bixler" of Kearney, Sai Rao of North Bergen, Ruby Kish of Secaucus, Captain Monica Ramos and Adriana Rodriguez of West New York.
